Reporting on an investigation

The Commissioner must report the investigation results to the client (or third party complainant) and lawyer involved.

If, during or following his investigation, the Commissioner is satisfied there is evidence of Professional Misconduct, he must also tell the Attorney-General and the Law Society.

Also, if the Commissioner uncovers information or evidence suggesting that the lawyer may have committed a criminal offence, he must give that information or evidence to the Crown Solicitor.
