Entry and search of premises

As part of an investigation, although usually only if a lawyer under investigation does not cooperate with the Commissioner, the Commissioner or his investigator can:

  • enter premises under a search warrant issued by a Magistrate
  • search and examine anything on the premises
  • take possession of or seize material
  • access computers and download information
  • request any person on the premises to answer questions and give assistance.
